I run Manjaro, which is a fork of Arch linux. I chose this distro mainly as a intermediary step between pure Arch and something more gui based like Ubuntu. This way I can run my computer without manually fixing issues or personally installing software components to run my machine (as with Arch) and I also don't have to deal with a gui based application installer like Ubuntu. I can feel some freedom by using the AUR for all my applications but not need to be a tech expert necessarily in the offchance something actually goes wrong.
Well I run Manjaro on the "experimental" or "testing" setting (I can't remember the name exactly) but It means I get the fully up to date applications from the AUR. I also run a tiling window manager (i3-blocks) as opposed to a floating window manager since I think it's more space efficient and also quicker and easier to use (in the long run) as opposed to having to drag windows around whenever you want to resize them. It's pretty convenient!
Well I think using the nekoweb terminal locally for one would be a cool idea, it would mean I could update my site without using vs-code and looks super neat too. I also want to fix a number of small issues with my installation, for instance I can't see my battery charge on my status bar (^^ゞ I also want to fix Youtube video streaming. I use this super cool web browser called qutebrowser which allows me to control everything using my keyboard, it's like a window manager but for browsing the internet ! But it doesn't have any ad block extensions so I'll either need to contribute to the github repo at some point or use a keybind for mpv which is a software for playing youtube videos locally. I also still need to get good at things like nvim and just generally knowing my way around linux easier but that'll come with time.
Maybe I'll buy a thinkpad when I have the money :3
